Who We Are

Our service is provided by Lisa Dolby who is a dedicated Funeral Director with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over many years helping bereaved families. This understanding and expertise has been passed onto her dedicated staff to ensure that from the moment of your first contact with us and throughout the whole process of arranging a funeral you can be assured of receiving a service that will not compromise on quality.

We appreciate how difficult it is to cope with emotions during a time of grief, so we guarantee to provide a caring and compassionate service that is approachable and responsive to your every requirement and concern.

By listening to you we will respectfully guide you, making sure the final act of saying goodbye is done with the utmost respect for your loved one and your family.

Services

Transport

Our fleet is beautifully maintained with our black hearse and a limousine routinely at your disposal and the option of more if required.

If your loved ones require something a little different for example, we can provide a Horse Drawn Hearse, either in black or white or a different form of hearse such as a VW hearse or a motorcycle hearse.

If you have any particular requirements all you have to do is let us know and we will accommodate your request.

Pre-Payment funerals

A funeral plan is an easy way to arrange the funeral you want in advance. A plan allows you to specify your wishes and pay for the funeral director’s services included in your plan. As customers often tell us, that can bring peace of mind to you and your family. A plan from Golden Charter also includes an allowance towards third party costs. These are essential, non-funeral director services such as the cremation or burial fees, plus the minister or officiant’s fee to perform the service. The value of the allowance included in your plan may grow over time. There will only be more to pay at the time of the funeral if the third party costs exceed the allowance when you buy your plan, or if the costs increase by more than the growth of your plan.

Direct Cremation (Unattended Funeral)

With more families now considering a direct cremation — sometimes referred to as an unattended funeral — we would like to explain exactly what this service includes.

We offer a simple, dignified Direct Cremation Service at a fully inclusive cost of £1,540, including all disbursements. This option is suitable for those who do not wish to hold a traditional funeral service. There is no formal ceremony and no mourners in attendance.

Although the service is simple, it is carried out with the utmost care and respect.

Your loved one will travel to the crematorium in a hearse, accompanied by our Funeral Director and bearers, who will be dressed in full funeral attire. The coffin will be taken through the main entrance of the crematorium, as with any attended service. A piece of music will be played as the coffin is carried down the aisle and placed on the catafalque.

Once the coffin is in place, our Funeral Director will respectfully deliver a committal, which may be religious or non-religious, according to your wishes.

What the £1,540 fee includes:

Our professional fees and support in making all arrangements
Completion of all necessary legal documentation
Collection of your loved one within 15 miles of our funeral home
Provision of a basic coffin
The cremation fee
Collection of the ashes or their scattering at the crematorium

Optional Additional Service

If you would like to visit your loved one in our Chapel of Rest prior to the cremation, we can arrange this by appointment. This includes preparation and viewing and is charged at £205.
